Frequently Asked Questions

  • How far in advanced should I book a reservation?  Our events book up fast and are small intimate gatherings.  Best to book early to reserve your spot!
  • How much to reserve my spot?  Since space is limited and small groups for events, we require full payment for event bookings. No refunds offered but will allow  transfer to another date if enough advanced notice given per guidelines below. Please see below question for further clarification.
  • I am not able to make it to the event I paid for.  What do it do?  Please notify us as soon as possible since we are very small classes.  If you are unable to make it to your scheduled retreat, your payment can be transferred to another date or someone you know. Conditions apply.  Please refer to our cancellation policy.
  • What is the Cancellation policy?  Transfers must be made via email.  All payments are non-refundable for events and treatments but may be transferred to a future date for fee.  There is a $100 processing fee for rescheduling more than 2 weeks before your retreat.  There is a $200 processing fee for rescheduling less that 2 weeks before your retreat.  All monies paid (less processing fees) will be given in form of a gift card.  Gift Cards expire 1 year from event paid for and can be applied to any retreat or gifted to another person.  No refunds or credits will be given for failure to attend / failure to complete the retreat, or arriving late / leaving early.  It is your responsibility to read and understand our cancellation policies.  We recommend purchasing your own travel/trip cancellation insurance so your trip fees will be covered in case you have to cancel your retreat. 
  • Can I join a Waitlist for event that is full?  Yes! We are more than happy to place you on a waitlist for a specific event and will let you know if a spot becomes available.  Please just click the "join Waitlist" button and we will contact you if something comes available.  Payment would be due at that time if something comes up.
  • Can I bring my pet?  Unfortunately, due to liability issues we are unable to accommodate pets including emotional support animals. 
  • What can I expect when I arrive at the Retreat?  Once at the gate please follow the gravel road on the property and follow the signs showing were to park.  We will pick you up by golf cart and take you to the retreat center farm house located in a section of the ranch. Then, time to Relax and Unwind.
  • Where can I park my car?  Parking will be designated with signage once arrive on the property. Give us a call if have any questions!
  • What are your check in / check out times?  Check in is from 5pm to 10pm on Friday night of the event.  Check out is 11am on Sunday.
  • Do I need to check in and check out?  Yes, please!  To check in, please give us a call when get to the front gate.  We will come pick you up and walk you thru the check in process.  Check out can be done thru the General Store in the back of the Farmhouse.  
  • Am I out in nature at the Retreat?  Yes!  The Retreat Center is situated on 70 acres of a Wild Bird Nature Reserve.  While we may have included modern amenities for your use, please remember while you are staying with us that you are in nature!  That means there could be spiders, snakes, insects, and other animals around.  You could possibly hear shooting noises in the distance- you are in the Texas country!  It is a safe environment when we are all aware and respectful of our surroundings and our living friends that may be nearby.  
  • What should I bring for my stay at the Retreat?  We recommend sunscreen, reusable water bottle, flashlight, bug repellant, and appropriate clothing.  Depending on the time of year, we recommend bringing layers of clothing.  Remember this is a natural environment and insects and animals can be present- so closed toe shoes/boots are best.  Our General Store have many items in case you forgot yours at home.
  • Is the Retreat family friendly?  We love family but the Retreats are for ages 21 and up only.
  • Are these women only retreats?   We have separate retreats thru out the year geared to women only, men only, co-ed,  and couple retreats.  Please review events to see availabilities and dates for each. 
  • Can I come and tour the Retreat?  Apologizes, no.  Our guests' privacy and comfort is most important to us.  We have a no tours policy but we do have a video tour of the Retreat which you can view on the website along with photos.
  • What are the hours of the store?  The store is open from Friday at 5pm-10pm, Saturday 7:30am-10pm, and Sunday 7:30am-11:30am. Please come by!
  • What is the toilet and shower situation?  The farmhouse has a working toilet and place to wash hands.  We have created a amazing spa shower/bathing/toilet facilities outside the farmhouse with total privacy while still giving you the experience of bathing under the stars.
  • Is smoking allowed?  Smoking is only allowed in designated location on the property.  Please do not smoke in any of the buildings or non designated areas.  We ask that you please properly dispose of your cigarette butts when smoking outside in the receptacles provided and make sure extinguished.  The ranch is in a dry climate and your safety is our concern.
  • Are fires allowed?  Designated fire pit with lounge seating is located on the property.  We ask that you allow us to start and extinguish it for you!  Great for ghost stories and smores!
  • What is NOT included in the All-Inclusive Event price?  Spa Treatments (unless noted as part of event), boutique store purchases, and private accommodations. 
  • I would like to rent the Main Lodge for the Event, what is cost and how many does it sleep?  The Ranch House is available for additional $ 3,500 per Event and has 3 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms. Event fee still applies per guest for food/instructors/etc. Sleeps 10 people. 
  • What are the accommodations like?  We limit our retreats to 15 guests.  Accommodations are shared and have heat and air conditioning.  Bedrooms are shared with 5 beds per bunk room.  Shared bathrooms (1 toilet inside bunk house) and exterior Spa Shower/Tub experience with privacy (has a toilet in Spa pavilion also).  Fresh Linens/Towel/Amenities are provided for you. 
  • Is tent camping allowed?  Sure! We can help you and can provide tent rentals for an additional fee. Please contact us for more information!
  • Do you offer gift certificates?  We do!  Please email us or call and we would love to mail you or your recipient the gift certificate for you!
  • Can I come alone?  Yes! Of course!  Most of the guests that come here go solo and it is a wonderful way to make new friendships with people.  
  • Is there cell phone service?  Yes, there is coverage once on property for most carriers.  We do ask that you respect the other guests and only use phones when outside and not in the sleeping quarters or during a class.
  • What about special needs or food allergies/dietary restrictions?  We welcome everyone and look forward to you visiting.  Please let us know if you have specific health conditions or mobility needs and we will do what we can to accommodate you.  Retreat at Red Dog Ranch is NOT liable for any injuries.  Food allergies/dietary restrictions can be accommodated for but need to know 2 weeks before event to accommodate.  We use local organic ingredients whenever possible. 
  • What airports are closest to the Retreat?  Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is a 2hr drive to the Retreat.  
  • What if I leave personal belongings at the Retreat?  Email us as soon as can.  If your item is found, you will receive an invoice for the shipping/handling.  Once that is paid, we will ship the item to you. 
  • What if my question was not addressed above?  Please email us or give us a call and we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
